Our Story…

Ok, follow carefully... The owners, are two local mothers, who happen to share the same kids. Confusing? Yes, we know. Ready for the jaw dropper? Fabiola Gomez, who had two children with Edward Copeland, is now business partners with Janelle Copeland, Edward's current wife. Between the two women, they co-parent a total of 3 children, (two daughters from Fabiola and Edward, and one daughter from Janelle and Edward). The three girls are the foundation of this business...Our "little" cake mamas:)

The idea was to take the passion both women shared equally and possessed a great deal of talent in and turn it into a family owned and operated business that their kids could be a part of. Making cakes for friends and family was something the two women did frequently, but never together.

In 2009, the two women decided to take their skills and put them to the test. They began testing recipes and developing a business plan to start their own bakery. Word of mouth hit the streets, and the unlikely pair began catering to the local community for all special "treat" needs. School functions for their kids, local real estate agents, playgroup moms, hair salons and tons of other local community partners are now customers of The Cake Mamas.

Today, our goal is to open a neighborhood bakery that fills a void in the local area. There are currently only a few bakeries local in the community that specialize in cakes. None of them produce cakes similar to ours! The taste, the flavors and the LOOK of our cakes is not currently offered anywhere but here!

Our goal is to create a business, where the local community members know our story, taste our cakes, and then TELL EVERYONE THEY KNOW! It’s kind of like encouraging the gossip, but putting the most positive spin possible on it! Our mission is to keep the cakes affordable, but still offer a differentiated taste that is only a result of utilizing the finest quality ingredients.
